BEREAVEMENT AND SUICIDE LOSS
Counselling for Bereavement and Suicide Loss in Cambridge
I offer counselling for bereavement and suicide loss in Cambridge for adults who are grieving the death of a partner, child, family member, friend, or someone important in their life.
Losing someone close can be one of the most painful and life-changing experiences we go through. When that loss is due to suicide, it can feel especially complex, overwhelming, and difficult to make sense of. Alongside grief, there may also be shock, confusion, guilt, anger, or unanswered questions that can feel hard to carry alone.
Grief after suicide loss can show up in many different ways, including:
Intense sadness or emotional overwhelm
Shock, numbness, or feeling disconnected
Guilt or self-blame
Anger or confusion
Difficulty accepting the loss
Intrusive thoughts or images
Anxiety or feeling on edge
Changes in sleep or appetite
Struggling to function day to day
Feeling isolated or misunderstood
Everyone experiences grief differently, and there is no “right” way to grieve. Suicide loss in particular can bring a unique and complicated mix of emotions, and many people find it difficult to talk about what they are feeling with others.
My approach is warm, gentle, and non-judgemental. I offer a safe space where you can talk openly about your loss at your own pace, without pressure or expectation. Therapy is a place where all emotions are welcome, including the difficult or conflicting ones.
Counselling for bereavement and suicide loss can help you:
Process your grief in a supported way
Make sense of complex emotions
Reduce feelings of guilt or self-blame
Find ways to cope with overwhelming feelings
Feel less alone in your experience
Adjust to life after loss
Honour the relationship in a meaningful way
Begin to rebuild a sense of stability over time
Many people experiencing bereavement or suicide loss also struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma responses, or feeling disconnected from others. Therapy can support you in slowly finding your footing again while holding space for your grief.
I offer in-person counselling in Cambridge city centre, online therapy sessions, and walk and talk therapy.
